VDB Audio has just announced a completely new line of control surfaces for Sound Devices 833, 888 and Scorpio Mixers. The FCS-8 and FCS-12 Finger Control Surfaces combine a heap of great features into two compact, light-weight and powerful usb controllers designed and built in France.
Founded in 1984, VDB quickly became a well-known name in location sound with their excellent range of carbon fiber boom poles. Combining experience from the field with manufacturing expertise from the past 40 years, VDB Audio has now expanded its range of products to include useful sound recording tools, the Finger Control Surface 8 and 12 being the most recent additions to the family.
VDB FCS 8 and 12 Features at a glance:
- The interface has dedicated commands for record, stop, slate mic and a shortcut for arming and disarming individual tracks
- PFL and Arm status for all tracks, Rec/Stop, and Slate mic status are displayed using LEDs on the front panel of the controller
- Rotary master fader can be mapped to any bus or output of the 8-Series Mixer-Recorder
- 5 custom buttons can be assigned to various functions including Comms sends/returns, circle/false take, assigning faders to buses or outputs
