The NAB Show 2023 is in full swing and Deity Microphones has used the event to announce its brand new Theos Digital Wireless System, including a two-channel receiver and a transmitter using digital RF modulation.
Building on their experience with the older Connect system, the Theos wireless system features vast improvements, one of which is the use of wideband UHF frequency spectrum rather than the crowded 2.4GHz band. Frequencies span between 550-960 MHz depending on the available frequencies in your location. Theos Digital Wireless also features swappable frequency ranges based on your phone’s GPS / Firmware Update. The company states: "Now you can travel the world with one wireless microphone kit."
The Theos DBTX transmitter is made from milled aluminium and weighs only 100 grams while being strong enough for the everyday rough an tumble of location sound work.
As well as transmission, it houses onboard 32-bit float recording using a micro-SD card and very long battery life when paired with good AA batteries. Additionally, the Theos wireless system features built-in Timecode sync and each DBTX transmitter pairs seamlessly with the Deity TC-1 timecode devices so your onboard recordings can be easily sync'd with the rest of the production.
