In a shock move, DPA Microphones has just released information of their brand new DPA Wireless System, N-Series digital wireless, which they say is a fully digital, true diversity, wideband system that features the renowned DPA-quality sound.
Availability in Europe is quoted as "Spring 2025". Considering that the ownership of DPA Microphones also acquired shares in Wisycom last year, the microphone company's progression to its own wireless system is not so far-fetched, though it is a very bold move into a new technology field.
The DPA N-Series Wireless System is pictured on their website with a 1U Rack wireless receiver - true diversity with two antennas and a slim, compact digital wireless beltpack transmitter as well as a handheld transmitter which looks reminiscent of the DPA 2028 vocal microphone.
It is stated to offer a wideband frequency spectrum of 470 - 870 MHz, while its digital signla handling allows the wireless system a dynamic range of 126dB, which is pretty impressive. DPA also promise usability and their trademark audio clarity.
