Schoeps MK 2 H omnidirectional mic capsule is mild high-frequency response elevation at 0°, which compensates for HF losses caused by a slightly increased diffuse field amount at medium recording distance

The gold-plated ring reduces the size of the acoustic opening of the MK 2H. This results in an acoustic elevation above 6 kHz. The MK 2H is a capsule often described as balanced and round. Together with the KA40 sphere accessory, it forms a classic Decca Tree capsule.
The Schoeps MK 2H is ideal for natural-sounding pickup of instruments and orchestras in spaces with well-balanced reverberance. The choice between the two capsule types is essentially a matter of personal preference.
