The Schoeps CMC 6 U Microphone Preamp is designed for standard 48- and 12-Volt phantom powering of their capsules. Its circuitry recognizes the supply voltage and self-adjusts accordingly, to provide performance characteristics that remain essentially the same either way. The difference is that the current drawn at 12 Volts is greater than at 48 Volts. However, the 12-Volt mode consumes less power and may be preferred for battery-powered recording.

Schoeps CMC 6 XT U Option:
The "XT" option is a Hi-Res version that increases the frequency response of all compatible capsules (MK 2 H/S, 21, 22, 4, 41, 5) up to over 40kHz.
