The DV-SQN has been designed to run directly on Hawk-Woods DV-F or Sony NPF series of batteries. The output of the DV-SQN is directly from the Battery, 8.4V when charged and 6.0V when discharged. This lower voltage range is suitable for powering a SQN directly or the range of DAT recorders being offered today.

A step-up 12V fully regulated version is also available with the DV-SQNR. The advantage is the convenience of 12V out suitable for driving up to 12 Watts.
