Description
The Schoeps MiniCMIT is a compact shotgun microphone that delivers the same renowned acoustic performance and directional characteristics as the CMIT 5, in a significantly smaller and lighter form. At just 151 mm in length and weighing only 78 grams, it is ideal for boom pole operation, particularly in tight spaces or low-ceilinged environments. Despite its reduced size, the MiniCMIT maintains a transparent off-axis response, ensuring natural sound capture in demanding recording conditions.
Engineered with a fixed low-cut filter of 24 dB/octave at 70 Hz, the MiniCMIT eliminates the need for external controls while effectively reducing unwanted low-frequency noise. It shares identical frequency response curves and similar circuitry with the CMIT 5 and SuperCMIT (channel 2), allowing seamless interchangeability without impacting sound quality. This consistency makes it a trusted tool for professional location sound recordists.
The MiniCMIT is optimized for use with digital transmitters like the Sound Devices A20-TX, thanks to its P12 power compatibility and updated Schoeps RFI Shield. Designed to fit perfectly in the Cinela Pianissimo windshield with a dedicated suspension mount, it forms a lightweight, durable, and sonically reliable solution for film and broadcast audio professionals.
